MALMESBURY Young Farmers Club’s ploughing match has attracted a record number of entries and a range of vintage tractors.

The match took place on October 12 and was hosted by Tina and Andy Taylor at Aquetong Farm, Malmesbury.

The champion ploughman was Malcolm Hinton, the best novice was Will Wilson and best young farmer was awarded to Tom Clark.

Father and son team Liam and John Quick, present at many previous ploughing matches, also competed against each other and brought a rare Nuffield 4DM roadless DG4 half track conversion tractor.

Malmesbury Young Farmers Club Chairman Charlotte Taylor thanked all involved for the brilliant event and said she was delighted with the turnout of new competitors and vintage tractors.

She added: “The day was well supported by villagers, farmers and supporters. The barbecue had to be restocked several times!”
