A NEW supermarket will be opening its doors in Cirencester this coming Thursday.

The first ever Aldi is coming to the Kingsmeadow area of the town, and as part of the store’s commitment to the local community, it has already agreed to a significant sponsorship deal with Kingshill Football Club's Under 12’s and Under 13’s teams.

This partnership will provide new football kits, as well as a much needed new football goal.

Aldi has also donated to Siddington Parish Council and the money will go towards the purchase of a community defibrillator for the village.

This will ensure that people in the area are able to receive a quick response in the event of a cardiac arrest.

The new store on Cricklade Road has created 40 new jobs for the area, providing a range of opportunities for local people.

Aldi store manager Carl Langston said: “We are really looking forward to opening our first store in Cirencester and hope customers enjoy the day’s events, as well as our high quality products at everyday prices.

“Aldi is proud to support the local community and we are thrilled to be sponsoring the youth teams at Kingshill FC. We hope that they enjoy their new kit and goal and we look forward to working with more local groups in the future.”
