A MAN who had illegal sex with a woman was placed on a three year rehab programme by a Gloucester crown court judge today.

Lee Manger, of Siddington Road, aged 26, had originally been charged with raping the woman between January 30 and March 1, 2012. He also faced a charge of sexually touching her.

However, after the woman expressed her reluctance to give evidence, the prosecution did not proceed with those charges and they were ordered to lie on the court file.

Instead, Manger pleaded guilty to an offence of illegal sexual intercourse with an adult woman and he was sentenced to a three-year community order with supervision and a requirement to attend the Thames Valley Sexual Offender Treatment Programme.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC imposed a further order banning Manger from meeting or contacting the woman concerned except when another adult was present.

The judge told Manger to return to court on December 18 for a review of his progress.
