A CIRENCESTER restaurant is challenging other local eateries to join a special charity mission to raise money this November.

French restaurant Le Beaujolais is urging other food businesses to sign up to the Beaujolais Nouveau run, which sees participants race to a village party in a Beaujolais vineyard and return to Cirencester for a celebration party.

Already Cirencester Mitsubishi dealership CCRMotorco has got involved and is loaning the Castle Street restaurant an Outlander to help Le Beaujolais's team get to France for the mission.

All money raised will go towards Wellchild and Acorns Hospice, two charities which support young people with life challenging illnesses.

"We spent three days getting there and back last year and it was a truly superb occasion, especially as it meant we could support youngsters in need," said Owner of Le Beaujolais Kiean Glynn.

"This year we are hoping many other food establishments will join us in the run to help the many hard working charitable groups in our town".

This year's run is on November 20. Businesses are invited to take part at £50 each, with a portion spent on organisation and the remainder spent divided between the two charities.

Bill Miles, brand manager at CCR in Stratton near Cirencester said:" We are delighted to be working together with Kiean and team, especially to help those young people nationally who need vital care.

"Besides this excellent opportunity to help it also enables us to show the people of Cirencester our support of a marvellous Cotswold town and to thank them for the support they give us".
