A SMALL plot of land near Preston will be used as a parking space for two heavy goods vehicles following a decision by Cotswold District Council.
Residents expressed concerns that the vehicles would wake them up early in the morning, that roads in the village were not wide enough for large vehicles and that it would lead to more parking on the plot of land in the future.
The site itself is part of a farmyard on the eastern side of the village along Wit Pit Lane and is hidden throughout the year by trees and hedgerows.
The district council’s planning committee agreed to allow two vehicles to park overnight for a trial period of one year, despite the complaints from residents and objections from the parish council.
