A FAIRFORD pub is undergoing a series of smart new looks, with the garden being the first to be given a fresh makeover.

Residents and visitors gathered at the Bull Hotel in Fairford Market Place at the end of August, for the launch of the new green space, called The Bull Pit.

Since being taken over by Ian and Liz Summers over a year ago the 15th century building has undergone various changes.

Ian and Liz have now shown off their green fingers by creating a garden area to the back of the hotel complete with a wall water feature and a large iron bull-shaped sculpture, made by JM Ward Farriers and Blacksmiths in Quenington.

Guests enjoyed complimentary Arkells ales and canapés of gazpacho with prawns and mini burgers and pies all made by head chef Jamie Woods.

With the help of Bull owners Arkells Brewery, the plan next to improve the rooms and spruce up the bar.

Manager Ian said: "We have already refurbished a majority of the rooms but wanted to do the garden as this is giving something back to our regulars."

"All herbs and plants used to create the garden are from the Fairford market. Using the suppliers around us is very important to our business ethos.”
