A ROAD in Daglingworth was closed without notice on the weekend of August 16 by organisers of Cirencester’s Tough Mudder event.

Initially denying that they had closed the road, the organisers double checked with their staff after a Daglingworth resident sent photos of signs which were obviously diversions for the event.

A Tough Mudder spokesperson later said: “Having investigated the situation further and contacted our traffic provider, we can confirm the misplaced no entry sign was a case of human error.

“The team rectified their mistake for the event on Sunday and the no entry sign was removed.

“We apologise for any inconvenience Tough Mudder caused to the local residents of Daglingworth.”
