LOCAL aerial photography company SkyCo Imaging provided video to the Phoenix Festival this week as a backdrop to the main stage.
The video footage they took was used on the video wall on the stage, making their work the backdrop to some of the acts.
SkyCo’s craft Littlebird was launched from 150m away in compliance with CAA regulations.
Pilot Dan Reglar used a GoPro camera mounted on his drone to capture the scene from the air at 4.30pm, flying in light wind with clear blue skies.
Another drone was spotted flying above the festival on Sunday afternoon but this was not operated by SkyCo.
SkyCo Imaging’s sale director Lance Watson added that it is essential for drone pilots to follow Civil Aviation Authority rules when flying unmanned craft and to be mindful of the safety of those below.
