A MAN from Cheltenham was stabbed in the chest after walking home from a night out, but did not notice until he arrived home.

The 48-year-old man was walking alone along Hewlett Place, towards Priory Street, between 3am and 5.15am on Thursday, August 28.

He had been out with friends in town but became separated from the group as they walked back to a house on Priory Street.

As he was walking on his own, another man walking in the opposite direction is believed to have pushed him.

When the man arrived home his friend noticed he had blood on his shirt. It was then the man discovered a stab wound to his chest and a cut to his hand.

He received hospital treatment for the five centimetre stab wound.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident. Call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 and quote incident number 44.
