CIRENCESTER Open Air Swimming Pool has raised a hefty £1,055 from its annual 24 hour sponsored swim.
The money was raised through sponsorship of volunteers who swam a section of the 24 hour challenge each and a flurry of donations from supporters throughout the day and night of the challenge.
Swimmers were lucky enough to avoid rain during the challenge and the temperature at night was kept up by a fire pit, which also provided roasted marshmallows to lifeguards and swimmers.
Fundraisers booked almost all of the slots for the challenge and lifeguards filled in for the remainder of the time, keeping someone swimming in the designated lane for the full 24 hours.
Around 70 swimmers took part in the event, supervised by a team of nine dedicated volunteer lifeguards.
