A MAN was arrested at the Phoenix Festival on the weekend for carrying Class A drugs into the family-friendly event.

The 19-year-old Cirencester man was arrested in the Abbey Grounds on suspicion of carrying cocaine on Saturday at 6pm.

He received a formal caution from the police.

The second annual Phoenix Festival, featuring live music, family-fun activities, local food and drink and more, was held during the weekend in the Abbey Grounds.

The popular free event saw thousands of locals and visitors walk through the gates to enjoy the festival.
