CIRENCESTER March Hare Festival is soon to have its final addition after the unveiling of the 51st hare today.

The newest hare is another ‘People’s Hare’, which can be signed by anyone who happens to be passing through the town.

The first young people to sign the hare were Harrison and Isabel Cooper, who came into the visitor information centre while in the town centre.

To celebrate the last hare being revealed new festival t-shirts and posters are available from the Visitor Information Centre.

Posters of the trail's small hares are now available, with a poster of the large hares expected when Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust’s hare is finished.

The host of hares will be moved into the parish church in the town on September 12 for a concert from the Corinium Players Guitar Ensemble and a blessing at 6pm on September 13.

Tickets for the concert are available from the Visitor Information Centre at £10 per person.

All of the hares will then move to the Kings Head Hotel from September 27 to October 3 where they can be viewed for a small fee ahead of the Gala Auction taking place on October 4.

Philip Young, who was already out looking for the final hare this morning, has now captured almost all of the hares in the festival.

He said: “My daughters have been absolutely captivated by them and have been driving their mother mad!”
