ALMOST £5,500 has been donated to Macmillan Cancer Care thanks to a fundraising day at the Old George Inn in South Cerney.
A charity golf day was organised on August 16 by Saraan de Guise in memory of Jim Pritchard, who died several years ago.
The golf was followed by a barbeque at the pub, a raffle and an auction of promises.
The auction sold several great prizes including a cap and glove signed by golfing legend Phil Mickelson, a barbeque at Wildmoor Waters for up to 20 people and a dog bath, brush and blow-dry from dog groomer Short Barking Sides.
Saraan said: “All the money was all raised during the day through sponsorship for the 18 holes of golf, the raffle and the auction on the night.”
“They all had a great time, the weather was good and everyone played well.”
