DELIGHTED pupils received their results from Cirencester Deer Park this morning.

An impressive 68 per cent of pupils attained five or more A*-C grades including English and maths.

Out of all grades awarded an impressive 26.1 per cent were either A* or A grades and 15 pupils achieved ten or more A*/A grades.

Head teacher Chiquita Henson congratulated students on their results and thanked her colleagues for all the support they gave to students.

She said: “As an inclusive and truly comprehensive school we are proud of our pupils’ achievements. They are highly commendable at a time when the examination system continues to be under such scrutiny nationally.

“We encourage all pupils to achieve more than they first think is possible and, consequently, there are some truly exceptional results.”

Lucy Stephenson, who achieved an amazing 12 A*s and an A in further maths was extremely pleased with her results.

She said: “It was hard work. Staying organised was the most important thing.”

“I was feeling a little bit nervous, but I tried not to be too nervous as there was nothing I could do about it.”

Sam Cater received six Bs, four Cs and an A and will go on to study at Hartpury College, aspiring to become a personal trainer and to row for Great Britain.

Amy Howell also received excellent results and plans to study at Balcarras School.

She said: “I got six A*s, six As and I’m really over the moon.”

Bethany Mulcock was overjoyed with her results, made all the more impressive by the fact that an injury took her out of school for several months.

She said: “This is the happiest I’ve ever been!”
