AN OPPORTUNITY to try night time swimming is still open ahead of a fundraiser for Cirencester’s historic open air pool.
From Midday on August 30 to midday on August 31 members of the public are invited to take part in the sponsored swim in a lane reserved for the 24 hour challenge.
Lifeguards will be on hand throughout the day and night, camping poolside and maintaining a firepit for marshmallows while keeping an eye out for volunteers.
The pool itself will be lit by floodlights and candles but those lucky enough to secure a late slot may be able to fit in a spot of stargazing.
Unfilled slots will be taken up by lifeguards but those who manage to raise more than £20 through donations will be entered into a raffle to win a season ticket for the pool.
The pool itself is now into its 145th year and is run as a charity by a team of dedicated volunteers.
Each slot is £3 and can be booked via the pool's office on 01285 653947.
