TWO people had to be cut free from an overturned car by firefighters after a vehicle left the road in Brinkworth and ended up in a ditch this afternoon.
An elderly man who was driving the white Vauxhall Astra was taken to hospital with a non collision related illness following the incident, which occurred at the back of the Sprayrite premises on the B4042 at around 3.08pm.
Fire crews, police and the ambulance service attended the incident.
A police spokesman said: “Both lucky people. One observation I would make to all drivers of works vehicles. If you don’t have a cage/guard between the driver/passenger and the storage area get one. The work tools in the back were thrown to the front of the vehicle causing a minor injury but this could have been a lot worse. Invest to protect yourselves and your peers!”
