Firefighters extinguish Brinkworth roof blaze
A COUPLE escaped without injury after the roof of their Brinkworth home was engulfed by fire.
Marilyn and Peter Johnson were inside the house on Barnes Green when the blaze started at around 4pm.
Part of the roof of the property was destroyed by the fire.
A grateful Mrs Johnson said: "The fire service was brilliant, not just in dealing with the fire, but in the way they supported us. They are a really supportive team of people."
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
