A RANGE of items donated to the Cirencester Baptists Church are to be valued and sold to raise funds for the group’s new building.
The Cash in the Attic fundraiser has already attracted donations including a stamp collection, a mink coat and some antique jewellery.
So far the collection is going well and senior Pastor Matt Frost is looking forward to seeing more come in.
He said: “We’re just getting started but we have been given a lot of stuff already.”
“The Cash in the Attic sale is only a small part of our effort so we’re just looking to raise as much as we can.”
Among the more interesting items are a spinning wheel and a pair of ice skates worn during the great freeze of 1947.
Once the collection has been finished and the items are valued they will be sold at car boot sales, auctions in town and on the internet, starting this September.
