A CIRENCESTER woman who recently had a pacemaker fitted has completed a 10km walk for Marie Curie Cancer Care and raised £806.

Stratton resident Marian Preston, 71, extended her thanks to friends and family for their donations and support which helped her complete the charity walk.

The walk took place on Saturday, July 26 at the Badminton estate and Marian spent the almost 12 hours going door to door the week before the event.

Despite having to deal with her pacemaker being fitted on Wednesday, July 2 Marion raised enough money to pay for four full days of care for a cancer patient from a Marie Curie nurse.

Marian said: ““I just want people to know that it all went to a very good cause and to thank everyone for supporting me.”

“The evening was excellent with a lovely friendly atmosphere, a fun night with music and fireworks at 10pm.”
