PARTS of Cirencester are awash with an array of beautiful colour thanks to a project by the town’s council.
In April the council planted wildflower seedlings in areas around the town and now they are starting to blossom in spectacular fashion.
Blooms are sprouting near the children’s playground at the Abbey Ground, on the Century Way roundabout and the Four Acres Field.
Martin Conyers, estate services manager of Cirencester Town Council, said: “We are continuing to improve areas around the town.
They were planted in the spring and we are now reaping the benefits.”
Stuart Tarr, chairman of the Beeches Community Group said the flowers on the Century Way roundabout provided a nice distraction for drivers who had to use the diversion on Burford Road.
He added that the seeds were planted following a request from the Beeches Community Group to the town's council to get the roundabout, which is the responsibility of the county council, adopted and maintained.
