A RESIDENTS' group set up to oppose planning applications in Tetbury has announced that it shutting down for unknown reasons.

The announcement was made in an article on the STEPS website.

It read: “We would like to thank the people who have supported our efforts over the past two or three years.

“We hope the Tetbury Neighbourhood Plan continues its good work and will provide protection for our greenfield sites. And the District Council produces an approved Local Plan.”

Nobody from Steps was available to comment.

Tony Walsh, the deputy mayor of Tetbury, said he agreed with the decision in a comment that he made on the article.

It read: “Wow – I am certain that the decision is correct given representation locally on the neighbourhood planning team. Well done for bringing things forward – as in personal messages I feel it a shame folk couldn’t be more open about their personal interests in planning – but nevertheless – well done!”
