BUDDING engineers from Malmesbury School took off on a high flying adventure at the Royal International Air Tattoo.

The pupils joined youngsters from seven other schools including Stroud High, The Cotswold School and Royal Wootton Bassett in the Lockheed Martin Schools Engineering Challenge.

They were given the task of designing and building a model aircraft to be flown along a guide wire before dropping a package onto a target.

They were mentored by engineers from companies including Rolls Royce, Qinetiq and BAE Systems.
