WILTSHIRE Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash in Devizes.

The incident took place this morning shortly before 7.40am on Prison Bridge, A361, Devizes, involving a motorbike and a bus.

The motorcyclist, a 22-year-old man from the Devizes area, received emergency medical treatment at the scene but died as a result of his injuries.

The bus driver and passengers were all uninjured.

The road is closed in both directions on Prison Bridge and is unlikely to be reopened until 12.30pm.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and diversions are in place through Rowde.

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them immediately on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously.
