A FREE new fitness class in Cirencester is getting people active for the summer.

Ben Jackson, of Exceed Personal Training, has just set up his first fitness studio at Cirencester Football Club. The studio was set up initially to provide the footballers with pre-match treatments but Ben has also started educating the general public about fitness too.

"There is an obesity epidemic on our doorstep and I want to promote a healthy and active lifestyle," said Ben.

The personal trainer holds free classes for all ages and fitness levels on a Wednesday evening at 6pm.

"I have clubs in Tetbury and Malmesbury too," added Ben. "Some people say they cannot come because they have children, so I tell them to bring along their children.

"It's one hour a week and it's something we are giving back to the community," said Ben, who works with several other coaches.

Last summer he hosted popular bootcamp sessions at the Abbey Grounds.

Ben's fitness classes, which feature activities such as tug of war, tyre flipping and more, are every Wednesday night at 6.30pm on the Cirencester Football Club fields.
