A HOLIDAY cottage company has raised more than £3,000 for the Cotswolds Visitor Giving Scheme.

Burford company Manor Cottages, promoting more than 250 holiday cottages across the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, raised the total in the first six months of being part of the scheme.

Owner Chris Grimes said it could not be easier to raise funds to help look after the natural environment.

“We joined the scheme when it was launched by the Cotswolds Conservation Board as a way of putting something back into the environment and helping visitors to connect to the stunning Cotswolds landscape,” he said.

“This is such an easy way to raise money to help conserve and enhance the Cotswolds, that I would certainly encourage other tourism businesses to consider doing the same.”

When a customer makes a booking via the cottages website, they ask for a donation to the scheme of £1. The firm then matches that with another pound.
