A GROUP of students with disabilities have been challenged to each create a dish at a Cirencester restaurant in a bid to become a Star Cook.

The three students, Alex Chant, Jasper Farrow-Cummings and Liam Jones from the National Star College in Cheltenham have been asked to cook a dish in a competition being held by French restaurant Le Beaujolais on Castle Street.

One of them will prepare a starter, the other a main course and the third a pudding. The dishes will be judged on taste, marriage of ingredients, colour, plate cleanliness and presentation by Le Beaujolais's head chef Eric Lepine.

The compere on the night, on June 27, will be Star College student Abbey Joe, who did a work experience placement at Le Beaujolais and is currently employed as a part-time waitress.

The evening will feature a three course dinner at £16.95, with a portion of each ticket being donated by Eric and his partner Kiean Glynn to a collection and raffle on the night for the college.
