TO raise money for a charity who helped his wife battle cancer a Poole Keynes man cycled 874 miles between John O’Groats and Land’s End in eight and a half days.
Cancer information and support centre, FOCUS helped Jim Cunningham’s wife Jenny when she was in Cheltenham General Hospital undergoing chemo and radio therapy for ovarian cancer, which she has now recovered from.
Over the past year, retired RAF navigator, Jim has been out on the streets of the Cotswolds with his collection bucket tirelessly fundraising for the epic cycle and managed to raise around £4000 for FOCUS.
Jim,67, who clocked up an average of 100 miles a day on his journey, said:“They provided really good practical support for people going through chemo and radio therapy and I wanted to thank them.”
