THE Tesco Metro store at Kingsmeadow in Cirencester will host free diabetes checks next week.
The company is backing Diabetes UK as its charity for the year and is helping to promote Diabetes Awareness week which runs from Monday June 8 until June 15.
Anyone dropping in the pharmacy at the back of the store can have a free glucose test which is a good indicator of whether you are at risk of developing the condition, or already suffer from it.
Diabetes is common and affects nearly 4million people in the UK including an estimated 630,000 people who are unaware they have the condition.
The Tesco Pharmacy will offer free checks from 6.30am-10.30pm throughout the week. Anyone who indicates high glucose readings will be offered further advice.
