FAIRFORD Festival was declared a great success last weekend as visitors from all over the Cotswolds attended the traditional celebrations.

The fun run, set up by Somewhere Else Running Club in Cirencester, welcomed more keen runners than it had last year and organisers received positive feedback on how friendly and enthusiastic the marshals were.

The festival itself, which took place over Saturday and Sunday, saw the festival queen parade down the High Street in a fire engine.

Visitors also enjoyed performances from the Farrell School of Irish Dancing and Splash of Red. A dog show also took place and a children’s party was held in the marquee.
