VOLUNTEERS are needed for this year's Royal International Air Tattoo in Fairford.

Organisers of this year's event are looking to fill several volunteer vacancies to work alongside 1,500 others who travel from all around the world.

Enthusiastic Fairford residents are needed to welcome visitors, take photos, give directions and help people make the most of their day. People are also needed to work in the staff reception and there is also a space for a volunteer manager in one of the public enclosures.

Air Tattoo marketing executive Sarah Turner said: “There’s no denying it’s hard work, but it’s also very rewarding. It’s a great event to be involved with and there’s a great sense of achievement when you see so many happy faces.”

The ideal applicant must be friendly, outgoing, and confident when chatting with members of the public. They must also be aged 18 or over and hold a British or Commonwealth passport.

The Air Tattoo is held annually in support of the RAF Charitable Trust. Tickets for this summer's Air Tattoo on July 11-13 are on sale now.
