A TEMPORARY road closure will be enforced in Fairford Market Place this Sunday, June 1 as the town celebrates Fairford Festival.

The closure is in place from 2pm today (Wednesday, May 28) until Monday, June 2 at 1pm.

Fairford Festival is on Saturday, May 31 and at 12pm the parade will start making its way around the town.

There will also be Irish dancing, music from "Splash of Red" choir, a children's party and an evening of live music.

There is a second road closure in Park Street and Mill Lane all the way from the junction of Leafield Road and through to Coronation Street which will begin at 9.45am til 12 noon on Sunday, June 1.

This second closure is because of the 10km road race which starts at 10.30am in Park Street, in association with Running Somewhere Else running club in Cirencester.

The event is sponsored by Mitchell and Sarjent and Linden Homes. Advance entries to the race are closed but those interested can enter on the day.

Registrations will be taken from 9am on the day at Fairford Cricket Club.

There will also be a three kilometre fun run starting at 10.15am. The presentation of trophies is at 12pm.
