A MAN has been killed after a car crash on Thamesdown Drive, Swindon yesterday (Sunday, May 25).

All three emergency services attended the scene near to Asda at 6.30am after two vehicles, a blue Vauxhall Astra and a red van, were involved in a crash.

A man, in his thirties, who may have been thrown from a vehicle was treated by paramedics on a nearby verge. He was pronounced dead at Great Western Hospital.

Police officers are trying to contact his next of kin.

Another man, in his twenties, was also treated at the scene. He was later taken to Great Western Hopsital and is in a critical condition.

A third man, in his fifties, was removed from a vehicle as he was initially trapped. He was then taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary and is in a stable condition.

The road was closed in both directions. The Fire Service also attended the scene as one vehicle caught fire.

Debris spread across all four carriageways on Thamesdown Drive.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident. They have been taken to Gablecross police station whilst enquiries continue.
