POLICE say the search operation at a Wiltshire pond where boots thought to belong to murder victim Sian O’Callaghan were found, will continue into next week.
A shotgun and dozens of pieces of material, including women’s clothing, have been found at the site in Ramsbury.
In a statement today the force said: Specialist search teams are carefully draining the pond so that fingertip searches can take place of the silt at the bottom.
“This meticulous process, which involves officers from across Wiltshire and Avon and Somerset Police, will continue over the weekend and into next week.”
Sian O’Callaghan aged 22 from Swindon was abducted and killed three years ago. Taxi driver Christopher Halliwell is serving a life sentence for her murder.
