DOGS with waggy tails and soldiers with high tech kit helped to make the second Stanton St Quintin spring fete a success at the weekend.

Soldiers from Buckley Barracks put up tents, brought static displays and manned the barbecue as well as running a blindfold maze using their communications gear.

A novelty dog show run by Independent Flatcoat Retriever Rehoming also proved a big draw.

“This is only our second year,” said one of the organisers, Michelle Fairgrieve. “”We had a Diamond Jubilee party and decided it was so successful that we wanted to carry on.

Traditional fete amusements dominated the day, from produce classes and games to fairground rides, alpacas, performances singing groups and a static glider display from the barracks airfield.
