A HOTEL in Stow-on-the-Wold is holding a garden party to raise money for Stow's Community Fire and Rescue Station.

The Porch House in Stow was closed for over a month after a fire in the extractor fan spread throughout the hotel at the start of March.

It successfully re-opened on April 16.

The party at the hotel, on Digbeth Street, will include real ales and ciders, an all-day hog roast and barbecue and live jazz music. There will also be a charity auction and raffle as well as a fire engine for children.

A percentage of all proceeds will go to the local fire service on Union Street in the town.

"I’m delighted to be able to put on this great weekend for everyone to celebrate the Bank Holiday and the great work of the Stow on the Wold Community Fire and Rescue Station," said Mat Aket of Porch House.

Everyone is welcome to the party on Sunday, May 25 from noon onwards and admission is free.
