VISITORS to this year’s Cotswold Show will be able to learn exactly what goes on in the countryside through watching chainsaw demonstrations, fish smoking, chair making and more.

The show, held July 5-6 at Cirencester Park, will be showcasing a wide range of activities in keeping with Earl Bathurst’s ethos for the show, ‘when town meets country’.

Traditional crafts will include fish smoking, flax processing, a forge and sawmill, living willow fencing and fly tying.

There will also be glass blowing and chain saw demonstrations as well as lace making and leather working.

For horse lovers there is an extensive display of working horses showing the animals manoeuvring through a variety of obstacles while bird lovers can enjoy the 30 birds of prey on display.

The popular Butts Farm, based near South Cerney, will be making an appearance at the show with rare breed animals. Atkins Alpacas of Minchinhampton will be giving visitors the chance to have a go at weaving.

“We want to entertain and teach people a little bit more about what goes on in the countryside but at the same time give them a really enjoyable, family day out,” said the Earl Bathurst.

Early bird tickets, with big discounts on the gate price, are now on sale. Visit cotswoldshow.co.uk for more information.
