THE 2013 Emergency Services Show held near Chippenham last summer was a record year with £26,000 being raised for charity.

On Tuesday April 22 organisers of the show presented cheques totalling £26,000 to a range of charities and organisations that support the work of the emergency services or helped at last year’s event.

Among those presented cheques were the Fire Fighters Charity, Bobby Van Trust and the Ambulance Service Benevolent Fund.

Committee Chairman, Chris Harvey, said: “Every year, we say we want the show to be the biggest and best one yet, and 2013 certainly surpassed our expectations. We are delighted to give out donations totalling £26,000 and our thanks go to everyone who has made that possible.”

The Emergency Services Show, held every September at Hullavington airfield near Chippenham, is run by a committee of volunteers drawn from bodies including Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service, Wiltshire Police, South Western Ambulance Service and the Highways Agency.

The show attracts visitors from across the region with an array of emergency service vehicles and demonstrations on display to the public.

The ESS committee paid special thanks to John Williams Heating Services Limited of Chippenham for their kind donation and support of last year’s show.

Among those presented cheques were the Fire Fighters Charity, Bobby Van Trust and the Ambulance Service Benevolent Fund.

The 2014 Emergency services show takes place on Sunday 7 September 2014 between 10am to 4pm at Hullavington Airfield.

It will be supported by Grist Group Companies but there are still further sponsorship opportunities available.
