THE Bull Hotel in Fairford is used to a busy lunch or evening service.

But staff are preparing to pull out all the stops to prepare 150 meals in one sitting for a highlight in the town’s calendar at the end of this month.

The popular Arkells hotel has been give the prestigious role of being the caterers for the Fairford Festival Ball, on May 30.

It is the second year in a row the hotel has been chosen for the feast after the plaudits received following last year’s meal.

Bull manager Ian Summers, a former head chef in London and at the gastro venue Castle Combe’s Manor House Hotel is looking forward to the event.

“It is good to get back into the kitchen and get stuck in. I enjoy cooking for anyone but to be doing it for the town itself is a real honour,” he said.

The event will be in the towns’ market place, under cover of a marquee. Live music will come courtesy of the band Insight and the dress code is black tie.

Tickets are available on 01285 712244 or from Mister Ernest in Market Place.
