A TETBURY community group is giving a Cheltenham cancer support charity a healthy boost with a £3,000 donation.
The cash from the Tetbury Lions will be given to Maggie’s to fund its nutrition programme which provides eating advice for those suffering and recovering from cancer.
Jane Fide of Maggies thanked the group and explained how the money would be spent.
“The nutrition workshops at Maggie’s look to answer all questions people have about eating for health and eating with cancer,” she said.
“The nutrition booklets will be a huge help to our visitors.”
As part of the programme Maggie’s help people to focus on suitable food types and provides treatment-related eating challenges.
The cash will be spent on providing plastic folders telling how to eat well, over a three-year period.
Tetbury Lions has furthered its commitment, saying it will support Maggie’s in other areas.
