A BLAZE at the construction site of a new school in Cirencester has now been extinguished.

The fire which started by a generator at the Watermoor Scool site near Kingshill School began around 3pm today.

An eye witness to the blaze who did not want to be named, said: “It was on fire for around half an hour.It was just the black smoke that worried me.I though the whole thing was going to melt but it didn’t.”

She added that wooden pallets were destroyed in the blaze and she believed there was no other damage.
