A GOOD Samaritan has offered to buy a crash victim a brand new bike, after hearing his was written off following an accident with a car in Cirencester.

Guy Tomblin, of Bison Plant Hire in South Cerney, witnessed the accident and helped the victim until paramedics arrived.

He said the man’s bike was badly damaged after going under the car and he felt he wanted to do something to help.

He has teamed up with new cycle company Mango Bikes which is also based in South Cerney which has agreed to give Guy a new model for half its regular price.

However, Guy said he had no idea who the victim was and has appealed for the man to come forward.

“Following the accident, we would like to get in touch with the victim and replace the bike damaged in the crash,” he said. “We just really want to help him out.”

The incident happened on Thursday, April 17, at about 6.20pm on Park Street in Cirencester.

The cyclist was knocked off his bike by a red Volkswagen Golf as he riding along the road.

Anyone who witnessed the accident should call police on 101.
