A VOLUNTEER fair in Cirencester is taking place this May to encourage more people to make a difference in the community.

The fair, organised by charity Cotswold Volunteers, is on Thursday, May 15 from 12-2pm at Bingham Gallery, Dyer Street in Cirencester.

Groups such as Cotswold Canal Trust, Scrubditch Care Farm, the Phoenix Festival and Corinium Radio will be there to recruit more helpers.

Members of Cotswold Volunteers will also be attending to tell visitors more about the 240 volunteering opportunities throughout the district.

"Volunteering is something that everyone can do to make a difference, just by giving a little bit of their time," said manager of the Cotswold Volunteers centre Judy Mills. "It’s a great way to make friends, try something new, and build your skill base."
