A CRICKLADE driver will appear in court on suspicion of assault after a cyclist was knocked off his bike in Cirencester this week.
Police were called to Park Street on Thursday, April 17 at 6.20pm, after a red Volkswagen Golf collided with the cyclist.
The cyclist, described as in his 50s, suffered head injuries in the accident and was taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon by ambulance.
One witness, who helped the victim into the ambulance said the man had looked fairly shaken.
Gloucestershire Police said a 51-year-old man from Cricklade has been summonsed to court on suspicion of assault. The court date is yet to be set.
