A CIRENCESTER clothes shop is closing its doors for the final time on Saturday, after supplying the town for over 30 years.

Women's designer clothes store Wardrobe on Dyer Street has been trading in the town for over 30 years, starting on Cricklade Street in 1983.

Now owners Jane Tully and Judy Price have decided it is time to say goodbye and will be celebrating their final day this Saturday with glasses of wine for their customers and a selection of special offers.

“I shall really miss the friendliness of the people and the friendships I’ve formed over the year,” said Judy. “I’ll miss working with and knowing the fellow traders too.”

The pair have worked together at Wardrobe since the very beginning, visiting Paris to purchase new clothes, throwing charity events, and holding fashion shows, one of which was hosted by Earl Bathurst.

“We have both been incredibly moved and touched by the sentiments of the people here since we told them we were leaving,” continued Judy. “I’ve received flowers and bottles of champagne. People have been coming in saying they just can’t bear it to hear we’re leaving.”

Both Judy and Jane are retiring and will also be closing their other Wardrobe shop in Marlborough in June.

They have invited their customers to pop in and say a last goodbye on Saturday, April 26.
