PLANS to open a new personal training studio in a Cirencester industrial estate have been submitted to Cotswold District Council for approval.

Applicant Leigh Guilbert hopes to open the new fitness centre in Esland Place in the Love Lane Industrial Estate on a site that was formerly used as office space.

The application was recently considered at the most recent meeting of Cirencester Town Council’s planning committee on Thursday, April 17.

Committee chairman Cllr Jenny Hincks welcomed the plans and said it was good that the town’s business space was not being lost to housing.

Writing in the application’s supporting document, Mr Guilbert said that excessive noise coming from the studio should not be an issue as it will only be used by a client and a trainer at any given time.

The fitness studio will be kitted out with a treadmill, a static bike and a rowing machine along with a selection of weight lifting equipment.

Under the plans, the studio will be open for business from 7am until 8pm on weekdays and between 7am and 12pm on Saturdays.

Anyone who would like to comment on the application must do so in writing by Thursday, May 1.
