Plans opposed by Fairford Town council passed
PLANS for 22 homes in the north west of Fairford were provisionally approved at a meeting of Cotswold District Council’s planning committee last week.
Developer Spitfire Property Group (SPG) wants to build 22 homes on land at the edge of Saxon Way.
The proposals were passed on condition that SPG makes half of the development affordable housing and makes financial contributions to primary and secondary education.
Mark Wardle, of Fairford Town Council, called for the application to be refused at the meeting as he said it could add to the town’s drainage problems and because other housing development proposals in the area needed to be assessed before the plans could be allowed.
