THE Cotswold Water Park Trust is delighted to unveil its new hare model decorated by BBC Countryfile presenter Ellie Harrison.
The theme of the five-foot bronze hare model, named Come Togethare but affectionately known as George to the locals, is endangered invertebrates and has an array of colourful beetles hidden about its body for children to discover.
The hare has been placed at the Gateway Centre just in time for Easter as part of the Cirencester March Hare Festival 2014.
The festival was launched at the end of March with droves of uniquely decorated five-foot hare statues popping up around town for families to trail.
“We are really excited to be part of the festival, and hope that lots of people will come to the Gateway Centre to see George," said Jill Bewley of the CWPT.
"Our hare would not have been possible without the generosity of four local sponsors, Four Pillars Hotel, Orion Holidays, Relish Events and the Co-operative. We are very grateful for their support."
The hares will be all over town until September when they will then go under the hammer to raise money for a wild walkway around the River Churn.
