CIRENCESTER’S only all-male singing troupe is on the hunt for a new musical director to steer the group to new successes.
The Cirencester Male Voice Choir will need its new director before taking on a busy summer of live performances.
According to the group’s website, applicants should have “suitable musical experience, strong communication skills, an ability to motivate and inspire combined with a good sense of humour.”
Since forming with just 12 members in December 2009, the choir has gone from strength to strength and now has more than 40 singers, ranging in age from 16 to 85.
The choir has performed at venues all over the country and even in front of a capacity crowd at London’s Royal Albert Hall as part of the London Welsh Festival of Male Choirs.
Always on the lookout for new members, the Cotswold singers were given the award for Happiest Choir at a competition in Torquay.
The group meets for practice every Monday at 7.30pm in Cirencester’s Old Town Hall followed by a drink in a nearby pub.
