VISITORS to Chedworth Roman Villa can experience the creation and development of one of the country’s most important Roman sites this Easter.
Developed by the University of Bath, the Discovery Dome is a large inflatable dome which allows groups of visitors to experience a planetarium-style projection which brings the villa to life.
People can see the pre-Roman landscape, watch the villa develop around them before seeing its loss and rediscovery in 1864.
The dome will be at the villa from April 8-18 as just one part of Chedworth’s schedule of Easter events.
There is also the chance to meet an archaeologist, go on an early morning walk and hear the dawn chorus, discover and examine Roman coins and take a sneak peek at the Villa behind the scenes.
