A CIRENCESTER pub has hopped on the March Hare Festival bandwagon.
The Golden Cross in Black Jack Street is delighting diners with its celebration of the festival, with a return of the traditional British dish jugged hare to the menu.
Head chef Toby Refoy said: “I wanted to do something a little different. Hare was a British staple but has disappeared from our menus. These animals should be celebrated.”
The Cirencester Hare Festival runs until September and features dozens of decorated hare sculptures hidden around the town, promoting visitors, shoppers and locals to explore Cirencester’s hidden shopping areas.
The sculptures will be auctioned off in October to raise money for nature projects around Cirencester.
